QUESTION & ANSWER DOCUMENT - FBO Solicitation 20063596

1. What type of shoeing does the Border Patrol prefer?

Answer: Cold shoeing is the norm for how our horses have been shod for the past five years; however, we are not opposed to hot shoeing. For the most part our horses do not require clips or rockers or any other specialty shoeing on a regular basis. Every once in a while we will have to utilize egg bar, straight bar, heart bar, or other corrective shoes for a period of time if a horse is having problems. Our biggest issue is the fact that we work predominately in the rocks so we need shoes that will hold up in that terrain.
