WHITERIVER SERVICE UNIT

October 2023

A. BACKGROUND

The Whiteriver Indian Health Service Hospital requires a contracting action for the procurement of two (2) Facilities & Maintenance Department 40’ multi-door Conex/containers.

B. DELIVERABLES

1. The contractor shall provide two (2) 40’ storage containers (Conex). The containers shall be subdivided in the 4 units each measuring 8’ x 10’. The Conex model number is CNX40ST48106PR or equivalent storage unit. The color shall be saddle tan and include turbine vents.

2. The contractor shall deliver the unit to Whiteriver Service Unit, 400 Apache Drive, Whiteriver, AZ 85941.

C. REQUIREMENT

1. Storage Requirement: The Facilities and Maintenance Department utilizes 2,356 square foot (SF) in multiple areas for semi-secure storage. Semi-secure storage is required to keep items dry and/or to prevent theft. The locations store general facilities maintenance and repair items for the hospital, Specialty Services Building, Annex, and grounds. Items include drywall, flooring, portable HVAC units, ceiling track, fans, HEPA units, insulation, doors, piping, salt, equipment parts, small grounds tools, small grounds equipment, safety fencing, canopies, housing cleaning supplies, infection control barrier materials, housing repair supplies, ice chests, saw horses, and various other items.

2. Existing Storage Capacity: The existing storage requirements can be adjusted from 2,356 SF to 1,451 SF if these areas are cleaned and sorted. Only 288 SF of the existing storage area being utilized is acceptable due to building age/state or due to fire safety concerns. See Table 1 below.

3. Future Storage Capacity: The proposed 3,600 SF pole barn/storage shed will be submitted to DES in FY24. The estimated available storage area that can be utilized for this semi-secure storage requirement is 489 SF leaving a storage shortage of 682. These proposed Conex/containers will mitigate 680 SF of this semi-secure storage requirement.
