About this file

This document outlines a solicitation for the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation's Transformational Pension Insurance Modeling System project. The PBGC seeks to establish a ten-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract with task orders to cover the full life cycle of modernization, enhancement, operations and maintenance, and actuarial support services for its new Transformational Pension Insurance Modeling System. The initial task order requires modernization of T-PIMS for Single-Employer plans with a delivery timeline of no more than 27 months from contract award. T-PIMS is intended to be faster, run more simulations, and incorporate a larger footprint of input data than the PBGC's current system. The contractor will be responsible for ongoing systems modernization, enhancement, operations, and maintenance efforts over the life of the ten-year contract.

4Azure Databricks - Data EngineeringData Analytics PlatformNo- Databricks Unit (DBU)*
- Environment (Service Account) License- Databricks is the Enterprise version of Apache Spark and uses its built-in flexible schema storage called "Delta Lake"

- The Data Engineering package enables use of the Databricks platform for execution jobs (e.g., batch jobs, ETLs, production models) and therefore uses an environmental (service account) license. Developers do not interact directly with this package.

*A DBU is a unit of processing capability per hour, billed on per-second usage. The larger the instance is, the more DBUs you will be consuming on an hourly basis. For example, 1 DBU is the equivalent of Databricks running no a c4.2xlarge machine for an hour.

- AKS could have separate licensing or could be under the unified Azure Billing as it is a native Azure service 7 PowerBI Reporting and Data Visualization No Free or Monthly per User - PowerBI licenses may be included as part of the Azure environment cost depending on PBGC's agreement with Microsoft

- PowerBI "Desktop" is free, while PowerBI "Pro Service" follows a Monthly per User cost structure

- The Pro Service license cost also differs based on other MS licenses the organization procure such as office 365 and SQLserver

- PRAD will likely use PowerBI Desktop (read-only privileges to dashboards) more than Pro Service (full customization and dashboard build privileges), as not every member of PRAD will be creating dashboards vs. viewing results 8 S&P Global Market Intelligence Firm Financial Data No Annual - Subscriptions depends on number of users
