About this file

This is a Notice of Intended Decision to Enter into a Single Source Contract issued by the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) for the procurement of Oticon hearing aids and related parts and accessories. The procurement is for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 and includes various Oticon hearing aid models such as Oticon Own SI, Oticon Intent, Oticon Real, Oticon Play PX, Oticon Opn Play, Oticon Xceed, Oticon Zircon, Oticon Ruby, Oticon More, Oticon Opn S, Oticon CROS, and Oticon CORS PX, along with required accessories including Easy LE Adapter, Oticon EduMic, Oticon TV Adapter 3.0, Oticon ConnectClip, BTD 800a Dongle, AP1000 Adapter, and FM10 Adapter. The advertisement period runs from March 2, 2026 at 4:00 PM through March 23, 2026 at 4:00 PM, providing a fifteen business day notice period as statutorily mandated. No competitive bidding process is associated with this procurement, and no formal bidder conferences or site visits are referenced.

The estimated dollar amount for this single source procurement is not-to-exceed $12,000.00, with the intended source being Oticon located at 580 Howard Ave., Somerset, New Jersey 08873. The justification for single source acquisition is based on Oticon's status as the sole designer, manufacturer, and principal distributor of all Oticon-labeled hearing aids and accessories in the United States. Additionally, Oticon is identified as the sole source for technical service of the equipment, with warranty voidance occurring if servicing is performed by any facility other than Oticon or Oticon-designated facilities. Prospective vendors may submit information regarding their ability to supply the commodities during the advertising period to Kim Whitwam, Director of Purchasing at whitwamk@fsdbk12.org, though submission does not constitute a formal protest. The agency reserves the right to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses received.
