About this file

This document is a description of an intended single source purchase by the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB). The agency is seeking a sole source provider for Layered Solutions, Inc. (LSI) software and mass notification system that has been fully integrated and implemented in the school's system over the past year. LSI is the sole manufacturer and software support provider for this proprietary system, and the agency has determined that no other source exists for these products and services. The intended single source contract has an estimated not-to-exceed value of $34,999.99 for the current fiscal year.

The justification for the single source procurement is that LSI is the only provider capable of expanding and providing ongoing support and configuration for the proprietary LSI software. The LSI team has extensive experience servicing the deaf/hearing impaired and blind community, and several other similar schools also recognize Layered Solutions as their sole source provider for this specialized software and services. The agency is providing a 15-business day advertisement period for other potential vendors to submit information regarding their ability to provide the required commodities and services.
