About this file

This document is a Notice of Intended Decision to Enter into a Single Source Contract for the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB). FSDB is seeking to procure athletic equipment manufactured and sold exclusively by Gopher Sport for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. The specific items requested include UltraFit Fitness Bars in various weights and the EZStand Complete Court Portable Volleyball System. The total estimated dollar amount for this single source purchase is not to exceed $5,000. The advertisement period begins on November 21, 2024 and ends on December 16, 2024. FSDB has determined that Gopher Sport is the sole source provider for these specialized products that are designed to meet the needs of their student population.

The justification for the single source procurement is that Gopher Sport develops and offers an exclusive catalog of products that are only available through their company. No other vendor distributes or sells these particular items. FSDB is advising that this is not a competitive solicitation, and vendors who believe they can fulfill this procurement should contact the primary contact, Kim Whitwam, Director of Purchasing, within the 15-business day advertisement period to demonstrate their ability to supply the required commodities.
