About this file

This document is a solicitation for a federal contract to develop a fiber laser module and beam combiner for an airborne laser subsystem. The Air Force Research Laboratory seeks proposals for the design, development, and testing of a next-generation fiber laser module consisting of multiple fiber laser amplifiers in a modular package. A coherent beam combiner must also be developed capable of combining the fiber laser module outputs up to 150 kilowatts. The integrated fiber laser module, thermal management system, and beam combiner must meet size and weight metrics of 3 kilograms per kilowatt and 3 liters per kilowatt for a 150-kilowatt laser operating for 30 seconds. Offerors are to perform analysis and testing to demonstrate performance under relevant environmental conditions and deliver the hardware, documentation, and data required to operate and maintain the system. White papers are due by a specified date, with the potential for a single award contract to fulfill the program requirements.
