DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENTS

NIDA MODEL Series 130 Parts

1.0 INTRODUCTION

The Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATT) requires the procurement of specialized, proprietary experiment and fault-finding cards designed exclusively for the NIDA Model 130 Series technical training system. This equipment is critical for conducting hands-on electronics troubleshooting training for students in the Aviation Electronics Technician (Intermediate) (ATI) and Aviation Electronics Technician (Organizational) (ATO) "A" Schools. The objective is to acquire these essential components to maintain the operational readiness of the training pipeline and ensure curriculum requirements are met without interruption. These components are integral to the Naval Air Technical Training Center (NATTC) curriculum and directly support the operational readiness of fleet personnel.

2.0 REQUIREMENTS

The Contractor will provide genuine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts from NIDA Corporation that are fully compatible with the Government's existing NIDA Model 130 series trainers and associated courseware.

2.1 Significant Characteristics

2.1.1 All components must meet the following proprietary technical specifications to ensure full functionality, safety, and compatibility:

2.1.2 Proprietary Hardware Interface: Cards must utilize NIDA's unique, gold-plated, self-cleaning pin design and feature the "critical card keying" mechanical footprint. This specific design is necessary to ensure a reliable electrical connection and prevent incorrect insertion that could damage the trainer console.

2.1.3 Integrated Fault-Logic: Cards must contain NIDA's proprietary internal relays and solid-state switches. This logic is essential for the trainer's automated fault insertion capability, which is a core part of the training curriculum.

2.1.4 Bidirectional Communication: Components must support the "Card Feedback" protocol, allowing the NIDA trainer to identify the inserted card and verify its configuration. The trainer software will not function with cards that lack the correct NIDA-coded ID.

2.1.5 Software Synchronization: The hardware must be engineered to function seamlessly with NIDA's proprietary Computer Managed Instruction (CMI) and Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) software. This includes the ability to respond to specific software commands, such as the "Shift + Clear" function to reset all faults.

2.1.6 Safety and Warranty Compliance: Components must be OEM-certified. Use of non-authorized parts is prohibited as it voids the existing 5-year warranty on the Government's capital equipment and could bypass the trainer's integrated safety monitoring features.
