1.0 Background

Commander Navy Installations Command (CNIC) Force Chaplain has vetted and approved a range of programs and curricula to provide a standardized product inventory for Chaplain's Religious Enrichment Development Operation (CREDO) programming. Commander Naval Forces Japan (CNFJ) and Commander Navy Region Japan (CNRJ) require a Training for Trainers (T4T) event that complies with OPNAVIST 1738.1 and CNIC 1738.1 to certify Religious Ministry Teams (RMT) to lead retreats and workshops with American Strengths Center's (ASC) copyrighted and proprietary strengths curriculum, one of several proprietary curricula that have been approved by CNIC. The T4T event and the subsequent events that will be led by its participants will directly contribute to the Region Commander's initiative to reduce self-destructive behaviors by increasing individual self-worth as well as enhancing relational bonds that in-turn minimize domestic violence and sexual harassment. Equipping multiple RMTs across CNJF/CNRF to deliver this transformational training ensures a broader reach for lives impacted.

The T4T will enable RMTs to lead existing Marriage Enrichment and Personal Growth Retreats and Workshops as well as applying ASC's copyrighted curriculum to Spiritual Growth events that focus on strengthening a spiritual core specifically within a military context and will incorporate the peer-reviewed research findings of Dr. Lisa Miller and Dr. Harold Koenig. This T4T will train participants in the facilitation of Gallup's StrengthsFinder 2.0 assessment to include training on the interpretation and application of assessment results specifically within a military context.

3.2 Spiritual Performance Fitness Guide: The Contractor will also train and equip area RMT leaders on how to lead and deliver training for ASC-developed Spiritual Performance Fitness Guide.
