About this file

This is a Single Source Advertisement for a procurement by the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) for Cochlear Americas hearing aid parts and repair services. FSDB seeks parts and repair service for Cochlear branded hearing aid systems including Nucleus, Kanso, Hybrid, Baha, and Vistafix System Centers for fiscal year 2026-2027. The advertisement began on August 4, 2026, at 4:00 PM and closes on August 25, 2026, at 7:00 PM, providing a fifteen business day advertising period as required by Florida Statute. No competitive bidding process or formal request for proposals will be conducted. Vendors who believe they can fulfill this procurement are invited to submit information regarding their capability to supply the described commodities or services to the Primary Contact, Kim Whitwam, Director of Purchasing, at whitwamk@fsdbk12.org during the advertising period.

The estimated not-to-exceed dollar amount for this single source procurement is $19,999.99. FSDB has identified Cochlear Americas, located at 10350 Park Meadows Drive, Lone Tree, Colorado 80124, as the intended sole source provider. The justification for the single source acquisition is that Cochlear products are sold exclusively by Cochlear, and no other source exists for parts and repair service for Cochlear branded hearing aid equipment and accessories. The procurement is classified under commodity codes 45111701 (Assistive Listening Devices) and 42211705 (Hearing Aids). The agency reserves the right to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses received during the advertising period; however, any such determination rests solely within the agency's discretion.
