About this file
This document is a Single Source Advertisement from the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) for a proprietary software procurement. The solicitation, numbered SS-26-028, seeks Visible Body Courseware from Cengage Learning, Inc. for biology curriculum courses in fiscal year 2025-2026. The advertisement will be open from August 29, 2025, at 4:00 PM to September 22, 2025, at 4:00 PM, providing a fifteen business day period for potential vendors to respond.
The procurement is valued at a not-to-exceed amount of $3,200 and is specifically for Visible Body Courseware, which Cengage Learning claims is a sole source product. The justification for single source acquisition is based on Visible Body's exclusive ownership of the intellectual property rights and the lack of adequate substitutes in the market. The primary contact for questions is Kim Whitwam, Director of Purchasing, who can be reached at whitwamk@fsdbk12.org. The document emphasizes that this is not a competitive solicitation, but rather a notice of intended single source contract under Florida Statutes.
