About this file

This is a Single Source Advertisement (PUR 7776) issued by the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) for the procurement of braille transcription curriculum materials. FSDB seeks to procure Benchmark Advance Florida Edition comprehensive print and digital language arts curriculum materials for use during the 2026-2031 school years. The intended single source provider is Braille Plus, LLC, located in Queen Creek, Arizona. The solicitation is open from June 19, 2026 at 4:00 PM through July 13, 2026 at 4:00 PM, representing a statutorily mandated fifteen business day advertisement period. FSDB justifies the single source acquisition on the grounds that Braille Plus is the only company producing braille transcription of Benchmark Education Company Grades 1-5 Weekly and Unit Assessments for the Florida Edition curriculum adoption cycle. The transcription will be completed in UEB format and embossed according to FSDB specifications, with tactile graphics produced and inserted to match print placement.

The estimated dollar amount not-to-exceed for this procurement is $52,000.00. The commodities are classified under printed publications and education or vocational textbooks. During the fifteen business day advertising period, vendors believing they can fulfill this procurement may submit information regarding their capability to supply the described commodities or services to Kim Whitwam, Director of Purchasing, at whitwamk@fsdbk12.org. The Agency reserves the right to determine whether to proceed with this single source procurement or conduct a competitive procurement based on responses received. Failure to file a protest within the time prescribed in Florida Statutes or failure to file required bonds or security constitutes a waiver of proceedings under Chapter 120, Florida Statutes.
