The City seeks a vendor to provide comprehensive tire retreading services using cold cap and hot cap processes, tire repairs, and wheel/rim refurbishment for the municipal fleet. Vendors must complete and return the specification with their bid. All work, including tire casing inspection, retreading, and repair services, must be completed and delivered within seven working days of the City's request. Tire casings and wheels will be picked up from and delivered to the City of Milwaukee Tire Shop located at 123 N. 25th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53233.
Bidders must be approved by the Tire Retread Information Bureau (TRIB) and listed in the TRIB Retread Tire Buyer's Guide for Wisconsin for commercial truck light and medium commercial truck tires. The specification requires Product Liability insurance with the City of Milwaukee named as additional insured, pro-rated warranties on retreaded tires covering defects in material and workmanship, and reimbursement of removal and reinstallation costs if three or more units from the same lot develop similar defects. Consideration will be given to firms located within Milwaukee. The City Purchasing Director retains sole authority to judge quality and suitability and determine the successful bidder.
