About this file
This is Addendum 1 to the bid solicitation for the Plaza Restoration at Norwalk Police Department, issued by the City of Norwalk Purchasing Department on March 6, 2026. The project involves restoration work at the Norwalk Police Department located at 1 Monroe Street, Norwalk, Connecticut, and includes installation of two new light poles to match existing specifications, curb cut improvements, brick sidewalk borders, and perimeter pavers. A pre-bid conference and walkthrough were held on March 4, 2026 at 10:00 AM at the project site, with an attendee sign-in sheet provided. The electronic bid deadline is 2:00 PM on March 18, 2026, and the hard copy deadline is 2:00 PM on March 20, 2026. The project is scheduled to begin on June 1, 2026, with a completion timeline of 60 calendar days.
Key clarifications provided in this addendum address site-specific requirements and technical specifications. Temporary containment is required only in the work area and staging area. The City will coordinate with the awarded contractor regarding material staging, laydown, and parking, including potential use of the bicycle/parking lane on Monroe Street. The new light poles must match existing specifications as detailed in the attached "SONO T.O.D. & CEDAR ST" Light Pole and Luminaire Specifications. Traffic control is not required, but site fencing is not mandated although recommended as best practice. Encroachment and right-of-way permits are required by the City for work impacting sidewalk access along South Main and Monroe Streets. The contractor should plan to work around the public and utilize the existing flagpole lighting circuit for the new light poles rather than installing entirely new electrical conduit and wiring. Detailed drawings for curb cuts, brick sidewalk borders, and light pole base details are provided as attachments to this addendum.
