About this file

This sources sought notice seeks information from companies capable of providing a scanning Doppler lidar for atmospheric applications. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Western Acquisition Division and Physical Sciences Laboratory intend to award a firm fixed price contract by July 31, 2023 for a scanning Doppler lidar that can precisely synchronize scans with multiple systems across a bandwidth of at least 19 m/s in both directions. The lidar must be eye-safe, have a wavelength around 1.5 mm, range resolution of better than 30 m, first reliable range gate of less than 60 m, maximum range of 15 km or greater, and temporal resolution selectable from 0.1 to 30 seconds. Responses are due by March 20, 2023 and shall include company information, evidence of relevant past performance, and confirmation of intent to submit a proposal if a solicitation is issued.
