Questions and Answers
Q1. On Page 4, 13a -- it lists that the bid due date is on 8/11/23 at 10 AM but on Page 2, it lists Aug 15, 2023 -- we want to confirm the correct date please.
A1. The due date is August 15, 2023
Q2. Do the daily reports require any picture submission? To our understanding, we are not allowed to bring in any cell phones or cameras into the Embassy correct?
A2. Embassy maintenance personnel could take the pictures and deliver them to the
Contractor to include in his daily report. The cell phone allowance corresponds to RSO.
Usually only the supervisor is allowed to bring his phone.
Q3. What is the offer guarantee that is listed on page 4 - 13b?
A3. An offer guarantee is not required.
Q4. Can you clarify on page 4 - 13c -- what the work requirements and other provisions incorporated in the solicitation by reference mean?
A4. Please refer to the Section H, Clause 52.213-4, (c)
Q5. We understand that the IGV tax is the same as the VAT tax, correct?
A5. IGV is the local tax.
Q6. Are the gazebos strictly aluminum or can it be combined with wood?
A6. Please see the statement at the end of this document. Embassy’s had bad experience with wooden gazebos because the labor for maintenance is intensive. We prefer an epoxy painted aluminum structure instead.
Q7. We may need to ship the materials from the USA directly. We may need to extend the start date to accommodate this situation. Is that possible?
A7. Yes, is possible. When the work on site starts it shall be completed in 12 weeks maximum.
Q8. We have been searching for aluminum columns of 4” x 4” on the market, we have found columns only 4” x 1” 1/2 x 1.5mm thickness which obliges us to use structural stainless steel ( inox ) of the suggested dimensions, please confirm us if that may be possible. The existing gazebos is made of metal structure not inox.
A8. Please see the statement at the end of this document.
Q9. Can we propose an extension of the floor ... or replace it partially o totally... by the issue that there is no agreement between the shape of the floor with the shape of the structure that is being proposed.
A9. As part of the base proposal vendor has to build in place the foundation for the columns of the gazebo. This includes cutting the existing concrete curb to place a new concrete footing. Please see also the statement at the end of this document.
Q10. Can other materials be used in the proposal design, besides aluminum structure and asphalt tile?
A10. Please see the statement at the end of this document.
Q11. Can you send us an image of the embassy building, just behind the original gazebos.

Av. Encalada façade are publicly available in internet.
