About this file
This document is a set of responses to inquiries from a site visit for a Well Drilling Project for the U.S. Embassy in Nouakchott, Mauritania (Solicitation No. 19MR6025Q0013). The responses address key technical and procedural questions about the project, including scope of work, contractor responsibilities, and project timeline. Critical details include the requirement to drill a well to 70 meters depth, install two pumps (one operational and one spare), and complete the project within specific milestones: 30 days for administrative submittals, 105 days for geophysical survey and recommendations, 150 days for well drilling mobilization, 180 days for well completion, and 240 days for final water sample and pump test results.
The document outlines payment structure with milestone-based partial payments: 15% for Pre-Drilling Phase, 30% for Drilling Phase, 20% for Evaluation Phase, 20% for Completion Phase, and 15% for Post-Drilling Phase. The Embassy will provide water and electricity, and contractors are permitted to submit proposals without attending the site visit. The contractor is responsible for demolition and restoration of structures, mud removal, disposal of drilling materials, and installing all necessary well components as specified in the Statement of Work (SOW). The project does not include salt removal filtration systems, and the contractor must conduct a survey to confirm the drilling depth prior to beginning work.
