The project involves custom-made carbon steel guardrails and handrails throughout the property's garden areas, with design specifications requiring French-style construction matching existing Art Deco elements. The contractor must hold valid Qualibat certification appropriate for structural and architectural metalwork, including garde-corps and handrails. Materials must include carbon steel structures with hot-dip galvanizing per EN ISO 1461, powder coating finish (black, RAL-specified) per EN 13438, and suitability for marine environments (coastal area, saline atmosphere, corrosion category C5) per ISO 12944, with a minimum 10-year anti-corrosion warranty.
The scope encompasses five primary sections: the Main House Lower Terrace Guardrail (20 linear meters at specified heights with 18mm lower rail and 25mm handrail); Main Access Staircase and Pathway Guardrails (three sections totaling over 1,600 cm at 107 cm height); Guardrails Near Outbuilding/Dependence (two sections including raising existing guardrails from 98 cm to 110 cm); Handrails and Safety Upgrades (including a curved handrail section); and Main House Upper Terrace Modifications. All work must comply with IBC 2024 Sections 1014-1015, French CCH standards (NF P01-012, NF P01-013), Eurocodes, EN 1090, DTU 32, and EN 15048. Installation requires chemical anchoring with stainless steel A4/316 rods for stone surfaces, proper spacing with anchor points every 180 cm, and conformance to the 10 cm sphere safety rule. The contractor must submit design drawings, shop drawings, material certifications, a comprehensive health and safety plan (PPSPS), and a site protection plan prior to work commencement. Working hours are restricted to 9:00-12:00 and 13:00-17:00 Monday through Friday, excluding American and French holidays, with the property occupied during works.
