About this file
This is a technical specifications document from the Department of State's European Logistics Support Office (ELSO) detailing requirements for 220/240V, 50/60HZ air cleaners and filters for residential use.
The specifications require units with European 'Schuko' plug (Type F), HEPA filtration capturing 99.97% of 0.3-micron particles, and a Clean Air Delivery Rate of at least 240 CFM. The units must be portable floor models with no assembly required, feature replaceable filters with 6-month minimum life, and operate at 40-60 decibels depending on setting. Additional requirements include ENERGY STAR designation, AHAM verification, three-speed control options, and suitability for 400-600 square foot rooms. Units that may emit ozone must meet California Environmental Protection Agency Air Resources Board standards with a maximum emission of 0.050 parts per million. The document includes a P/F (Pass/Fail) column, suggesting these are mandatory requirements that must be met by any proposed solution.
