About this file

This is an Amendment of Solicitation/Modification of Contract (Standard Form 30) issued by the US Embassy Canberra General Services Office on 08/17/2026 for RFQ 19AS2026Q0027 (PR16163413). The amendment addresses three questions and answers related to the solicitation requirements. No changes to delivery or receipt deadlines are indicated.

The questions and answers clarify key operational requirements: electricals and an ironing board cover are the only product additions to this year's kit with no other changes to products or unit quantities; the loading area at the facility can accommodate B-double vehicles for delivery; and carton weight limits have been revised upward from the original 12kg threshold to a maximum of 16kg per box, reflecting the safe lifting capacity of the receiving facility. All other terms and conditions of the original solicitation remain unchanged and in full force and effect. Contractors are required to sign and return one copy of this amendment to the issuing office.

This amendment is issued to answer questions on this Solicitation.

Q.1 I noticed that electricals and an ironing board cover have been added to this year's kit. I've reviewed the list and haven't spotted any other changes, but could you confirm whether there are any other updates to products or unit quantities I may have missed?

A.1 There will be no other changes to be made to this year’s kits.

Q.2 Given the size of this order, it's likely to exceed what a standard tautliner can carry, so delivery may need to be via B-double. I understand Pirie St is B-double approved, but could you confirm whether your loading area is large enough to accommodate a B-double vehicle?

A.2 Yes, the complex can accommodate a B-double vehicle

Q.3 How strict is the 12kg carton weight limit in the scope of work? This seems like a fairly conservative material-handling threshold, and I'd expect many cartons to exceed it in practice.

Requiring an additional carton just because a few items push the weight slightly over the limit wouldn't be very efficient. Is there any tolerance built in, or a process for exceptions?

A.3 The weight that we can safely lift for each box is 16kgs, so yes, you can push the weight from 12kgs to 16kgs.
