About this file

This is an Addendum 1 to a Request for Bid (RFB) issued by Owosso Public Schools for a pagina and classroom audio system installation project (19-OPS-PCA-01), prepared by Wright and Hunter on May 15, 2019. The project involves the installation of audio equipment including speakers, amplifiers, DECT receivers, and speaker cabling throughout a school campus building. A contractor meeting was held to address bidder questions and clarify project requirements, including review of the scope of work, building maps, existing paging systems, and construction timelines. Key technical specifications discussed included the use of gray speaker cable, existing Mitel MiVoice VoIP phone systems installed in summer 2018, Bogen amplifiers connected to existing speakers, and Category 6 data cabling provided by others. The addendum addresses critical details such as speaker placement in open industrial ceilings versus suspended ceilings, cable tray support requirements, and exterior speaker specifications. Award was scheduled following board approval on June 24, 2019.

The addendum confirms that bidders must submit both hard copies and electronic copies of their responses, including bonds, bid forms, base bids, voluntary alternates, familial statements, Iran sanctions statements, and criminal background check affidavits as required by Owosso Public Schools. The existing paging system must remain functional as a single zone during construction. No student microphones are required as part of the base bid. Acceptable exterior speaker manufacturers include Quam, JBL, Atlas Soundolier, and Lowell. The project references the Construction Project Milestone schedule and Northville Public Schools project 18-NPS-SCS-02 as related documentation. A vendor sign-in sheet listing technology advisors and representatives from Innovative & Independent and Northville Public Schools is included as an attachment to the addendum.
