About this file
This document is Addendum No. 1 for RFP #19-0106-P-RP, issued by Lake County Schools (LCS) Procurement Services in Tavares, Florida, for Interpreter Translator Services for Deaf Services. The solicitation seeks to contract with multiple vendors to provide sign language interpreting and translation services for the school district. The contract is intended for a three-year period, with vendors selected through a competitive evaluation process. Proposals are due prior to 2:00 pm on Monday, March 9, 2020, and will be evaluated based on predetermined scoring criteria. The district currently has seven contracted interpreters and anticipates similar needs for the upcoming school year, with requests varying across district schools.
The addendum addresses multiple vendor questions, clarifying key contract details such as vendor selection, billing practices, and service expectations. The anticipated budget is $375,000, with agencies being selected based on overall vendor ratings. The district will pay for actual time worked with a two-hour minimum, and interpreters must meet specific qualification requirements, including fingerprinting and badging. Current vendors include Interpretek, Deaf Talk, and Community Rehab, with the district expressing a preference for agencies that can provide both long-term and short-term interpreter coverage. The district is open to out-of-state vendors and will not provide preference to Florida-based companies. Interpreters will be required to use a computerized sign-in/out system and may be needed for various events including school programs, ceremonies, sporting events, and parent-teacher conferences.
