Text version

1. When a new employee/agent comes on board but has not been issued his or her Fed credentials but goes to the field with other FDA agents to observe ongoing operations for the purpose of learning the job, is this work time reimbursable?

FDA Response: Any individuals involved in conducting inspections must be credentialed. Once credentialed, inspectors may observe an inspection for training purposes and all required inspection procedures must be followed. All necessary training to fulfill the contract requirements is reimbursable, however, the extent and duration of training should coincide with the contractual needs.
