About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for MDE Exhaust Insulation Blankets procurement for the USCGC 175' MMA IDA LEWIS Hull#1, solicitation number 2125405Y6175M89006. The project requires providing materials and labor to insulate both Main Diesel Engine exhaust systems from turbochargers up to the stack top, covering Port and Starboard exhaust piping, fittings, expansion joints, and silencers. The work is to be completed within a 6-week period of performance, with a tentative start/finish date of 11/3/25-12/15/25.

Key technical requirements include fabricating insulation blankets with proper thickness to ensure external surface temperatures do not exceed 130°F, despite operating exhaust gas temperatures ranging from 729°F to 900°F. The contractor must follow specific installation guidelines, use steel lacing for attachments, and coordinate closely with the Coast Guard Yard. Additional requirements include RAPIDGate security credentials, compliance with OSHA standards, ISO qualifications, and strict environmental protection protocols. The U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order using simplified acquisition procedures and a best value basis.
