Question: Please confirm project WD is “Building” is the only determination for the entire project.
Answer: Please refer to Attachment C – Wage Determinations where both Building and Highway wage determinations are already included.
Question: Project solicitation documentation states 90days for work completion from date of NTP with 60 days after for closeout documentation. The estimated lead-time for gate is 8-10 weeks ARO, this does not allow sufficient time for installation, start up and training. Will the Government consider extending the time to completion to 120 days?
Answer: If there is an extended lead time required for materials to complete this project, coordination with the contracting officer will occur to extend the period of performance to an acceptable timeframe.
Question: Is the Lenel card reader a prox, or CAC enabled reader.
Answer: The Lenel card reader is a prox, and CAC enabled reader.
Question: Please confirm there is no concertina wire required for this project.
Answer: There is no concertina wire required for this project. For barbed wire information, see project drawing 31-1501.
Question: Are the ground loops on either side of the gate for reversing purposes only or will the inside ground loop be a reversing / free exit loop combined?
Answer: The inside loop will be a reversing/free exit loop.
Question: If the inside ground loop will not be a reversing / free exit loop, will there be a Lenel card reader required for both entry and exit sides of the gate; which would require users to card in and card out?
Answer: The inside loop will be reversing/free loop and therefore only one card reader on the exit is required.
Question: Will the addition of photo beams to this gate be acceptable? Use of photo beams to protect against entrapment on this particular entry due to the close proximately of the greenway to the entry gate is recommended. The existing edge sensors that are installed on the gate, have to make contact with an obstruction before gate reversal occurs. We recommend the use of both photo beams and edge sensors for the safest operation of the gates in these conditions.
Answer: Photo beams are acceptable.
Question: We request contact information for certified Lenel installers. Lenel has not responded to attempts to locate a certified installer that services this area; nor has Lenel responded to requests concerning their certification process.
Answer: BW Systems, Steve Cress, scress@bwsystems.net
Question: The Project Specification in Division 11, B. 1 specifies the gate as Ideal Manufacturing, Model HYJD-DC-25 (or approved substitute). Ideal said model number HYJD-DC-25 is out dated by 5 or 6 years. Ideal Manufacturing is recommending model HYJG1DC. Is this acceptable?
Answer: This project was designed in 2018 and at that time Ideal Manufacturing was still using the HYJD-DC-25. If currently they are using the HYJG1DC as the comparable model that meets the other criteria in the specification, then that model for bidding purposes is acceptable.
