QUESTION 16910Q260000003 sam.gov Questions and Answers
Good day. Do you need the same access for the 20ft container?
Access:
- Steel personnel door with weather stripping, threshold, deadbolt, and drip cap
They listed two ventilation points for the 20ft container: one side wall vent and one door-mounted vent; however, the louver vents may not be installed on the cargo doors.
Answer: Yes, we would like the same simple entry door on the 20’ that would be installed on the other boxes.
Do you want the plywood walls painted?
Painting is not necessary.
As 3/8” plywood does not have tongue and groove system, do you batten strips installed between panels?
Yes. Request batten strips to strengthen internal structure.
For the 20’ do you have an example of a door mounted system that you would like to use?
A standard steel entry door 36" wide by 80" high with weather stripping, threshold, deadbolt, and drip cap
What are the dimensions for the sidewall vents that you want installed?
The existing containers have one vent each. Sized 16-18" high by 26-28 inches length to accept a standard window mounted air conditioner.
Nami Fabrication LLC :
1. What size and location is required for the steel personnel door on each 40’ container?
The current containers are equipped with standard 36" wide by 80" high personnel entry doors. No specific location for the door is required.
1. Is there a preferred location for the window A/C unit?
No preference or requirement for specific A/C unit location.
1. The SOW specifies a “110V or 220V receptacle.” Which voltage is required?
One container should contain 1 each 2 gang receptacle wired to provide 240 volts. All other outlets are 120 volts and all other containers require only 120 volt service.
1. What incoming electrical service is anticipated for each container (voltage/amperage), and is a specific load-center size required?
4 of the current containers are serviced by 100 amp 120 volt load centers divided among 5x20 amp breakers for air conditioning, lighting, and outlet service. The fifth container is 125 amp 120 volt service and 1 each 60 amp 240 volt breaker.
1. Is the contractor responsible for providing an exterior power connection/inlet to allow the container to be connected to shore power after delivery? If so, please specify the required connection.
Request that the container have an externally mounted load center / breaker panel as specified above that will accept existing 3 to 4 runs of 1" and 1-1/2" conduit from existing shore power service.
1. Are there requirements for repairing/coating exposed steel around fabricated openings after cutting and welding?
Exposed steel around fabricated openings should be free of burrs and sharp edges. Exposed metal should be primed and painted to match undisturbed container surfaces.
1. Does the 20’ container require the same 2” rigid insulation and 3/8” plywood interior finish specified for the 40’ containers?
Yes. Request that the 20' container be finished with 2" insulation and 3/8" plywood interior finish.
1. Please confirm that the required delivery destination is USCGC AXE, 800 Youngs Road, Morgan City, LA 70380. The SOW lists Morgan City, while Block 9 of the SF-18 lists USCG Base New Orleans at 1790 Saturn Blvd.
