Solicitation 1605TA-20-Q-00002 Technical Questions

1. Are there example style guides for the System Design Document referenced in Deliverable 2?

Answer – No.

2. Is there an estimated project kickoff date based on the procurement and award schedule?

Answer – Within 48 hours of the award date.

3. I have a question regarding your requirement for the HoloLens to have the ADA viewer. From what I understand of the PWS section of your solicitation, your app can be developed without this plugin and not be subject to:

a. potential issues with conflicts between future HoloLens updates and the ADA viewer, and

b. increased costs to use proprietary addons such as the ADA viewer Is there a specific reason you are wanting/needing the ADA viewer?

Answer - The Ada Viewer is software, or an app, that visualizes 3D spatial data for the Ada Platform. It is designed and built with libraries specifically used to visualize applied earth science and civil construction data. The Ada Viewer also provides a suitable interface for interacting with Augmented Reality, which gives a broader scope of possible solutions that the tool can provide.

For the OSHA project, it is much more efficient to deliver a custom software solution that leverages these libraries with minor customization than to create all of the libraries.

Additionally, these libraries are designed to work with future versions of HoloLens. The result is the ability to deliver presentation tools and communication features quickly that will provide the best possible classroom instruction outcomes for trainers delivering materials to trench safety inspectors. This is done at no additional cost and doesn’t require any licensing fees or additional development work.

4. Are you wanting to have the instructor input information to modify the AR environment to customize the training scenarios, or will the scenarios remain the same every time?

Answer - have the instructor input information to modify the AR environment to customize the training scenarios

5. Are there example style guides for the System Design Document referenced in Deliverable 2?

Answer – No.

6. Should the representations and certifications be included with the proposal and if so, in what section?

Answer – The representations and certifications should be included in Volume I.

7. On page 28 under Section 2.5, should the requirements reference be revised to C.1- C.2 as there does not appear to be a C.5 – C.7?

Answer – This information has since been updated to remove the words “C.1-C.2” and replace with Performance Work Statement. See the updated section below:

Demonstrate its technical understanding of, capabilities and expertise in, and experience with the requirements stated in the Performance Work Statement. Each of the major requirements sections should be addressed separately.

Describe its proposed methodology and approach to accomplish these requirements. Describe its approach for providing quality assurance for work performed under this contract.

Include a discussion of anticipated or potential difficulties and problem areas that may be encountered in supporting the requirements. Include recommended approaches for their resolution and plans for anticipating and managing performance risk.
