1. For the FR coveralls are there any specific FR certifications that have to be met. NFPA, ANSI??

The FR coveralls requires the material to be 100% cotton with an Arc flash rating of at least 11.2 ATPV. Arc flash rated protective clothing is in compliant with NFPA 70E and ASTM F1506 standards.

For the insulated coveralls are there thermal certifications or requirements?

I am not aware of any thermal certification needed for the insulated coveralls. The requirement is the insulated coveralls must be made with insulation layer for protection in cold environments.

2. It was not clear how many items of each type are needed for evaluation. Can you clarify?

Please see attached Excel Coverall Pricing Spreadsheet with amounts for each type and sized.

3. Will it still have the Buy America requirement?

TAA products will be accepted. Please note country of origin in response.

4. Do you have product names with us, or patterns if you have them?

There are no specific product names, style numbers, or patterns.

5. Could you please tell me if the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation posted as solicitation number 1605C421Q00007 (COVERALLS) will be a follow-on requirement to any work performed currently or in the past, or will this be a new requirement?

This was previously awarded under order number DOL-MSH-15-A-0002.

6. If possible, can you please provide the most recent contract or task order number?

DOL-MSH-15-A-0002

7. Does the style in the picture below apply for Standard coveralls, Lightweight Coveralls, Fire Retardant coveralls, and Insulated coveralls?

The style in the picture applies to all styles of coveralls (Standard coveralls, Lightweight Coveralls, Fire Retardant coveralls, and Insulated) with a few additions made to the lightweight, fire retardant, and the insulated coveralls.

8. What colors are requested for each type of coverall?

Navy

9. What is the fabric (100% cotton, 50:50 polycotton, etc.) for the standard, lightweight, bib, and insulated coveralls?

Please see section 1.2 for specifications

10. What is the approximate fabric weight (ounces/sq2) for each type of coverall?

Please see section 1.2 for specifications

11. What is the Hazard Risk Category (CAT1, CAT2, etc.) and/or minimum performance (cal/cm2) for the FR coveralls?

The Hazard Risk Category is a HRC 2, which has a minimum ATPV (Cal/cm^2) of 8. Our requirement states that the material is 100% cotton with an Arc rating of at least 11.2 ATPV. Please referred to section 1.2 for specifications under Fire Resistant Coveralls.

12. For the bib overalls, are plastic buckles accepted?

Plastic buckles are unacceptable. Metal strap hardware appears to be sturdier.

13. The two-piece coverall requested is similar to the one in the picture below (including the reflective tape)?

One cannot tell by looking at the picture if this two-piece coverall is similar to our requirement. We require a lot of pockets on the shirt and the pants. One also cannot tell if there are heavy duty metal zippers located on outer seam of each leg.

14. Is the reflective tape for all coveralls 1 inch or 2 inch?

2 inch image1.png image2.png
