On the Move (OTM): with DF240C Antenna in Rucksack

On the Halt: With DF520 Low Frequency Extender and Android Controller

DESCRIPTION

DRTpack-V2 Tactical Manpack SIGINT Receiver System The DRTpack-V2 is a compact, rugged signals collection, transmission, and Direction Finding (DF) system.

The system is optimized for dismounted and true On the Move (OTM) Low-Level Voice Intercept (LLVI) missions. All functions, including signals collection and DF operations, may be conducted with the system in the supplied rucksack mounted on the operator’s back.

The heart of system is the DRT4411B-R-V2 Software-Defined Radio (SDR). The DRT4411B-R-V2 has two wideband tuners that provide 80 MHz of instantaneous bandwidth from 2 MHz to 3000 MHz. The system provides up to 12 drop receivers for signal collection.

DRTpack-V2 provides everything needed to perform SIGINT collection missions in a single package. The system includes the DRT4411B-R-V2 handheld receiver, a DRT DF240C Direction Finding antenna, a GPS antenna, and all necessary cables for OTM operations. Longer cables for On the Halt (OTH) and vehicular applications are available.

Mission configuration and monitoring is done using an Android smartphone device (connected via USB) or via a Windows PC (connected via Ethernet or USB).

SIGINT Capabilities

Super General Purpose Radio (SGPR)

Intercept, demodulate, and locate targeted emitters of AM, FM, CW, USB, LSB signals. Data can be logged and audio recorded. Direction finding data may be used to contribute to DRT and third party geolocation mapping solutions.

Enhanced Push-to-Talk (ePTT)

When supplied with targets identified by a DRT1000C system, the DRTpack-V2 can also collect signals from encrypted digital Push-to-Talk (PTT) radios. Data can be logged and audio recorded. Direction finding data may be used to contribute to DRT and third party geolocation mapping solutions.

Cellular Multi-Protocol Survey (MPS)

With MPS, the system can detect and characterize active cellular networks.

The MPS application can simultaneously survey the environment for GSM, cdma2000, 1xEV-DO, WCDMA and LTE networks. Insights gained through an accurate survey facilitate mapping the network topology and help to establish requirements for sustained operations. Survey parameters can be automated (and updated automatically using SmartScan) or configured manually. The system can log physical layer measurements and decode overhead messages.

CDMA Intercept Detect and monitor calls over a CDMA network. Monitored information includes Voice Calls, SMS Text Messages and Layer 3 Events. Data can be logged and audio recorded.

Features

• Manpack System: Intercept and DF while OTM.

• SDR package optimized for tactical SIGINT missions supporting emitter geolocation, monitoring, recording, and logging of intercepted communications.

• Each RF tuner provides 40 MHz of instantaneous bandwidth (IBW) for a total of 80 MHz IBW.

• Wideband tuners provide 2 MHz to 3000 MHz frequency coverage.

• Independent or coherent tuner operation.

• Advanced signal targeting with support for target lists of up to 2,000 entries.

• Supports wideband, multicarrier operation.

• Processing/monitoring of up to 12 channels.

• Real-time demodulation of AM, FM, CW, USB, LSB and encrypted PTT signals.

• Integrated 50-channel parallel tracking GPS receiver provides position information.

• TDOA compatible via timestamped IQ data for SGPR signals.

• Optional 10 MHz/1PPS synchronization to external sources.

• Supports time and frequency disciplining and timestamping of collected raw and demodulated data using internal GPS or externally supplied reference.

• Produces lines of bearing to SGPR and ePTT emitters that contribute to networked geolocation solutions using DRT’s geolocation tool (DRTview) or other 3rd party applications.

• On-board digital audio and log file recording up to 500 channel-hours of audio and intercept logs stored on a removable SD card.

• All equipment fits in and operates from a rucksack which also has space for personal gear.

• Controlled from Windows PC (Ethernet or USB) or Android Smart Device (USB).
