About this file

This document is a Justification for an Exception to Fair Opportunity from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). The DOJ's Justice Management Division (JMD) plans to issue a sole source task order to Alvarez and Associates, LLC under NASA's Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) V Government-Wide Acquisition Contract for Storage and Backup services. The 6-month task order will run from October 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026, providing Storage as a Service (STaaS) with secure, durable, and scalable storage solutions.

The requirement includes enterprise-level storage, backup, and restore services with reliable redundant architecture, performance rebalancing, and Data-At-Rest Encryption (DARE). The proposed contractor will acquire, install, deinstall, transport, configure, maintain hardware, and provide software updates. The Contracting Officer has determined the pricing will remain the same as the current period of performance, which was previously assessed as fair and reasonable. The justification emphasizes the need for continuity of mission-critical services and the risks associated with changing vendors during a planned infrastructure transition.
