About this file
This document contains Industry Questions and Answers for a court reporting and grand jury transcription contract. The current incumbent is Veritext, with contract number 15JA0522D00000026 and a total estimated contract value of $1,992,862.50 covering a base period and four option years. The contract will involve two Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) awards, one for Chicago and one for Rockford, with minimum staffing requirements of two court reporters and one videographer per location.
Key operational details include that videographers will only attend grand jury sessions when specifically requested, with typically four grand jury days per week in Chicago. Each witness averages approximately 39 pages of transcription, and the government's primary performance improvement goals are staffing availability and turnaround speed. Grand jury transcripts must be delivered via USAfx, and the government plans to request transcripts from every grand jury session. Secure on-site backup equipment storage will be available in Chicago but not in Rockford. The contract also emphasizes contractor background checks and performance within contractual bounds.
