About this file
Amendment 001 modifies the FBI's Request for Proposal (RFP) for a multiple-award Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for 5.56 NATO/223 Remington Ammunition. The amendment extends the proposal submission deadline from August 29, 2025, to September 29, 2025, at 1:00 PM EST and updates several technical specifications for the ammunition, including pressure testing requirements, cartridge case markings, and packaging identification.
Key changes include modifications to pressure testing procedures, specifying compliance with SAAMI or EPVAT standards, updating requirements for cartridge case markings (to be applied only after contract award), and changing sheet metal specifications from 316 Stainless Steel to Galvanized metal. The solicitation seeks four ammunition categories: service, training reduced-lead, non-jacketed frangible, and jacketed frangible, with detailed technical requirements for performance, pressure, and environmental testing.
