About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines radiological equipment safety survey and monitoring services for the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) across 122 institutions. The contractor will perform biennial on-site inspections and certifications of medical and dental x-ray equipment, excluding specialized imaging technologies like MRI, CT, and mammography units. Key requirements include radiological safety surveys, image quality testing, exposure reduction recommendations, radiation safety program reviews, and immediate reporting of unusual exposures.

The contract includes a base year with four optional one-year extensions, totaling 60 months. Personnel must have minimum 6 years' experience in diagnostic radiological surveys, with certification by the American Board of Health Physics or American Board of Medical Physics. Strict security requirements mandate background checks, including NCIC and NACI checks, fingerprinting, and credit verification. Deliverables include inspection reports, quarterly and monthly summaries, an annual inspection schedule, and immediate exposure notifications. The work will be performed during normal business hours, with potential for occasional off-hours assignments, and the contractor is responsible for all travel costs.
