About this file
This document is a detailed specification for a 5600-Gallon 2-axle Stainless Steel Tanker for the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT). The specifications outline a deep drop double conical, exterior ring, non-code trailer with a capacity between 5600 and 6500 gallons. The tanker must feature a T304 stainless steel shell, internal baffles, specific venting and drainage systems, a 13hp gas engine-driven pump, aluminum hose carriers, and various technical requirements including air ride suspension, 10-hole hub piloted wheels, and LED lighting that meets federal and South Dakota laws. The delivery is specified for Mitchell, South Dakota, with a 120-calendar day delivery timeline from the purchase order date, and a potential penalty of $50 per day for late delivery.
The document includes comprehensive technical specifications for the trailer's construction, components, and performance standards. Key additional requirements include OEM standard disk brakes, anti-lock braking system, specific tire and wheel specifications, a ladder for manhole access, and strict pre-delivery inspection and servicing guidelines. The procurement process mandates that all federal safety requirements must be met, vendor decals are not allowed, and the equipment will be painted in the manufacturer's standard color. The delivery is FOB Destination with all transportation and delivery charges paid by the vendor, and each unit must undergo a complete pre-delivery inspection and be serviced according to manufacturer recommendations.
