THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SINGLE-SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES.
The Bureau of Reclamation, Acquisition Operations Group, Denver, Colorado, intends to award a single source purchase order to SITECH Intermountain, LLC.
DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND
Earthworks Machine Control and Site Positioning System for Installation on Government Owned and Rental Heavy Equipment
1.0 Background
The Provo Area Office performs construction services throughout the Intermountain West at a wide variety of federal facilities and locations. Heavy Equipment for our various projects is either government owned or rented through an IDIQ contract. We have traditionally utilized a survey crew for site layout and grade staking on mass excavation projects. However, with advancements in GPS positioning systems and the heavy equipment software interface, the need for a dedicated survey crew has been largely eliminated. We have utilized this technology with success on rental equipment during the last year and have now identified a need to purchase and install these components on our government owned equipment.
2.0 Scope
This contract will entail supplying the relevant hardware, software, and installation labor to retrofit a Caterpillar 336E Excavator and D6T Dozer with the Trimble Earthworks Machine Control software and Trimble hardware. This will include (1) base station setup, (1) cab kit for the excavator, (1) cab kit for the dozer, and (1) additional cab kit to utilize on tech ready rental equipment.
4.0 Delivered Equipment - Specifications
The following is a list of equipment that will be required. The equipment must be compatible with the Trimble Earthworks Site Positioning software/system utilized on Caterpillar heavy equipment supplied by our current heavy equipment rental contractor, Wheeler Machinery Co. (Additional/different equipment may be required to complete this request and can only be approved by the Contracting Officer prior to order/purchase, delivery or installation by the Vendor.)
