Synopsis:
***NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE***
The Bureau of Reclamation Acquisition intends to solicit from a single source - Redlands Water and Power Company is a shareholder owned private irrigation company that diverts water from the Gunnison River via the Redlands Diversion Dam to provide irrigation water to the Redland's portion of the Grand Valley. In 1995, the Bureau of Reclamation purchased a total of eighty-six
(86) shares in Redlands Water and Power Company for use in developing and maintaining replacement wildlife habitat associated with the Grand Junction Wildlife Area under the Grand Valley Unit of the Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Program.
All company shareholders are annually assessed the cost to deliver irrigation water shares and these collected funds maintain the diversion and canal system. At annual shareholder meetings, Redlands reviews the previous year's operation costs and establishes the cost of the delivery for each share of water.
BOR holds eighty-six (86) shares at $215.00 per share (FY24). This is subject to change, based on an annual shareholders vote held at the end of February. The shares increase by $5.00 each annually.
