Questions and Answers During Site Visit #2
· Does the enclosure at Crystal need to be put together on site to show how it is put together and taken down? No, the structure is a supply only however an instruction manual shall be supplied along with the enclosure. 2.10 B
· The temporary wiring above the existing generator, does this need to be removed? The BOR will take care of removing the temporary wiring above the existing generator.
· Can the tray from the Control room conduit t to D1A be used for the generator wiring? Yes 500- wire will work in these trays and will bend around the support beams.
· Any new support for the wire will have to verified to be structurally safe to support the weight of the wire.
Questions and Answers from All Contractors:
· Option “A” is the original cable tray route per SOW. See attached. Option “B” is the new more practical route we discussed on the walk. Is the BOR okay with option “B” conduit route?
During the site visit the contractors were told that they could submit alternate proposals in addition to what was in the advertised specification used during the site visit. Be advised that routing the cable through the existing cable tray is a specification and not an option. Option A in the specifications refers to the option to add a new enclosure to encase the existing generator at Crystal Powerplant.
· Will the BOR be able to provide floor plan drawings for all three levels of the powerhouse?
Reclamation will provide a drawing for the floor plan below the generator floor where the control wiring cable tray that leads into to the control room is located.
The drawing is now attached to this amendment in a separate attachment. The general floor arrangement at elevation 7190.00 is drawing 622-D-42.
· Will the BOR extend the bid due date a week to give time for contractors to properly price this project?
Curecanti Field Division does not have a problem extending the bid due date.
· Will the “Option A” generator enclosure for the Crystal Powerhouse need to be delivered and assembled on site or simply just delivered?
This question is already answered in the specifications, refer to: Part 2. Description of Work, Option A, part C.
· The enclosure only comes in white or CAT yellow. Does this suffice for the contract?
No white or CAT Yellow is not acceptable, the exterior color of the enclosure must meet the requirements listed in part 2.03, M. Alternate neutral paint colors and paint sheen (up to satin) will be considered.
· Will this solicitation be extended?
Answered above, Curecanti Field Division does not have a problem extending the solicitation to ensure that the prospective contractors provide comprehensive proposals. The extension will be provided until August 31st and no other extension will be given.
· Is it possible to get a picture of the nameplate for the generator at the Blue Mesa facility that is to be removed? Picture is below.
· In addition to a picture of the existing generator to be removed (and nameplate) can you also provide a picture of the existing diesel tank and nameplate that is also to be removed? And can you also provide an approximate number of gallons of diesel in the tank that will need to be properly removed? The diesel tank has already been removed and is not part of this project.
