Addendum

1. Can you tell me what particular make/model pump the department has in mind, as the performance specifications would be difficult to achieve with a 6" pump, and the hp range of the engine.

2. The GPM and head requirements are more along the line of an 8" pump.

3. To actually achieve 3,200 gallons per minute (gpm), the suction and discharge opening must be at least 8” x 8”. Can a 6” pump be quoted with increaser fittings?

4. Due to the size of the impeller required to achieve 3,200gpm, can the HP be increased to at least 125hp?

The questions listed above were asked in regard to the 6-inch trash pump solicitation. These are all variations of the same issue, which is: 3200 gpm max flow is not likely to be met by any manufacturer with this intake diameter and horsepower.

The Statement of Work was drafted based on some rental pumps that are currently being used.

The rental pumps are manufactured by Pioneer Pump and are model PP66S12L71-TD2.9L. The parameters used in the Statement of Work were taken from Pioneer’s product brochure, with the assumption that these specs were typical for all makes and models of this size intake and horsepower.

Unfortunately, it appears that this data is incorrect and conflicts with the spec sheet for this model pump, which shows a pump curve that could only theoretically get to 3200 gpm at 2200 rpm. However, the engines areok, I will ma limited at the factory to 1800 rpm. Overriding this would void the warranty. At 1800 rpm, 60 hp continuous, the pump curve shows a max flow rate of 2850 gpm. This is the value that should have been in the original Statement of Work.

This addendum changes the max flow rate from 3200 gpm to 2850 gpm +\-5%

Note: the 5% should hopefully be a wide enough tolerance to be inclusive of a wide range of manufacturers who might have slightly different test results on their data sheets for max flow rate.
