About this file

This document is a Standard Form 30 Amendment of Solicitation/Modification of Contract for the Bureau of Reclamation's Lower Colorado Region, specifically for a Gravel Base Material Stockpile project (Solicitation Number 140R3025Q0052). The amendment includes a questions and answers section addressing logistics of material delivery, which reveals key details about the procurement: contractors are required to deliver 9,000 tons of gravel base material to a specified location, with the government anticipating award within 5-7 days of quote receipt.

The Q&A section provides additional operational details, including site access considerations: the delivery site has some turn radius challenges, triaxle trucks are preferred over end dump trailers, and belly dumps are not recommended due to the pit's grade. The refuge has its own equipment and staff to reshape material piles as needed, so contractors are not expected to provide additional equipment for site manipulation. No specific site restrictions like soft ground were noted, though careful maneuvering may be required during delivery.

Questions and Answers ¿ Sol#140R3025Q0052 Gravel Base Material Stockpile

1. It looks like there will need to be manipulation of the materials during delivery in order to allow for the full 9,000 tons to be stockpiled at the specified location, is providing a loader and operator to do the manipulation of the materials part of the SOW?

Providing a loader and operator will not be part of the SOW, as the refuge has the equipment and staff available to reshape the piles.

2. What is the anticipated award date to better plan for material sourcing and delivery schedule?

The Government anticipates making an award within 5-7 days from receipt of quotes.

3. Can you confirm if delivery site has any access restrictions, such as soft ground, grade limitations or turn radius challenges?

No site restriction such as soft soil but some turn radius challenges exist at dump site depending on equipment.

4. Are there any specific requirements of the delivery equipment (as in only dump truck or only belly truck, etc)?

Triaxles have an easier time than end dump trailers but there is enough room to complete a tight turn.

Belly dumps are not recommended due to the grade of the pit.

5. Do you know if the area where you will be dumping the gravel, will it be able to handle all the material or will it need to be stacked which will require a spotter or reshaped which will require equipment?

Depending on the number of loads delivered that they may need to reshape, but they have the equipment and the staff to reshape piles. We would just need the materials delivered.
