Q&A for Solicitation 140R3024Q0066 HD/DD Annual Fire Extinguisher Inspection/Recertification BPA

Q: The listed extinguishers are for the refill cost per unit, correct?

A: Yes, CLIN 1-4 thru 1-12 are for refill price and estimates of extinguishers that will need refilled per year.

Q Will the units that are located in industrial buildings be gathered in one central location or will we have to walk the site gathering them all? I understand the units located in cranes will be gathered by dam employees to one central location, correct?

A: BOR employees will gather their assigned department fire extinguishers and bring them to a central location both top and bottom side of the dam for service.

Q: Who is the most previous contractor for this contract? What was the contract cost for the previous contractor?

A: The previous contract was 140R3018A0018, all available information on this can be found on FPDSNG ezsearch.

Q: Do you have an estimate of how many units need hydro testing at each location?

A: Please seen CLIN 1-2 on the Price Schedule.

Q: Will we need to provide the government with new units to replace damaged or outdated units? If so, will the government place the order as an addendum to the current pricing sheet or will we need to cover this cost ourselves?

A: No, unserviceable units will be removed and disposed of by the vendor, new replacement units are purchased through normal means (purchase group order).

Q: Will the Davis Dam site require an Arizona tag or will Nevada inspection tag acceptable?

A: Hoover Dam will require NV tags Davis Dam will require AZ Tags

Q: Would like to confirm we are performing inspections to NFPA 10 2022 standard and not NSFM standard or ASFM standard.

A: NFPA 10 -2022 is the primary standard, its incorporated by reference by OSHA.

Q: For jurisdiction purposes, is Hoover Dam considered Arizona or Nevada?

A: Hoover Dam is considered both Arizona and Nevada, depending on which side you are working on will determine the jurisdiction.

Q: In cases where fire extinguisher needs to be re-filled, is it okay if such refill is done off site and unit returned in less than 24 hours?

A: No, need ability to do on-site re-fill for fire extinguishers during the vendor visits. This prevents extended degradation of fire protection of the dam/ facility.
