About this file
This document is a justification and approval for other than full and open competition related to a sole source contract opportunity. The Bureau of Reclamation proposes to award a firm-fixed price contract to Pipestone Equipment, LLC for the purchase of three additional Charlatte surge protection pressure vessel tanks and appurtenances for $593,250. The tanks will provide necessary surge protection for the expansion of the 242 well field by three new wells to increase capacity by 25,000 acre-feet per year. An intent to sole source notice was posted on May 6, 2022 with a closing date of May 20, but no other sources responded. The justification for the sole source award is that Charlatte is the brand of tank previously used for the drainage well system, requiring consistency to operate properly. Pipestone Equipment LLC is the only approved vendor for Charlatte tanks that services the Yuma Area Office. The anticipated contract award date is July 1, 2022.
