About this file
This is an amendment containing questions and answers for a pump bearing repair solicitation at the Folsom Pumping Plant. The amendment corrects the site visit address to 7794 Folsom Auburn Dam Road in Folsom, CA and adds a requirement for non-destructive dye penetrant testing of the rotating assembly.
Key details from the Q&A include: The contractor must provide all replacement parts and raw materials for pumps 2, 4, 5 and 6. Required replacements include line bearings, thrust bearings, bearing retaining collars, bearing nuts, grease seals, water shields, set screws, spacer collars, case/cover gaskets, and both case and impeller wear rings. The impellers, pump cases, bearing housings and pump shafts will be reused. A detailed spare parts list is provided for warehouse storage. No balancing or recoating work is included in scope. The Bureau of Reclamation previously performed maintenance, with bearing failures due to suspected improper grease being the primary issue requiring service. Any additional repairs or modifications beyond the base scope would require contract modifications. No pump drawings are currently available - the contractor must provide these as a deliverable.
