Scope/Background/Objective
1.1 Scope of Work
- Jet the Cow Creek Sewer to remove blockages and sediment/debris.
o Cow Creek Traversing Skyline Drive from Skyline/Old Ghost/Nevares Dr Intersection to third manhole below on Old Ghost Road below Skyline Drive (approximate linear footage = 5,500 lf)
- Furnace Creek from Sunset Campground to and through Furnace Creek Campground (approximate linear footage = 7,500 LF)
- Approximate linear footage = 13,000 LF
- Jet Old Ghost Road and Skyline drive sewer mains in Cow Creek to a site determined Manhole on Old

- Jet Sewer main in Furnace Creek from Sunset campground to HQ to Furnace Creek Campground to a site determined manhole of the gravity main to the lagoon.
- Remove any roots that intrude into the collection system as they are discovered.
- TV inspection of all Jetted Main lines
1.2 Background
The Death Valley sewer systems have repeatedly been found to have sediment intrusion due to heavy rain events caused by the 2022 and 2023 floods and Hilary Hurricane event. This, along with root intrusion, causes blockages and overland sewage flows which are a violation of State Law.
1.3 Objective
Clear wastewater collection systems of debris, roots, blockages, and correct deficiencies in the community collection systems of Cow Creek and Furnace Creek.
1.4 Contractor Services
Refer to Section 1.1, Scope of Work. Contractor shall mobilize crews to Death Valley National Park and jet the sewage system in a systematic manner. Work shall progress from the highest point to the lowest point which is the lagoons. In some sections the lowest point will be a site determined manhole in the collection system that will be used to remove debris via a Vactor Truck or similar type vehicle. Root cutting shall be performed in conjunction with jetting where required. Jetting will occur from the Skyline Drive/Old Ghost Road cross streets to a site determined manhole above from the Cow Creek Lift Station, approximately 5,500 LF. The remaining area to be jetted includes from the Sunset Campground along CA190 down past the HQ building into and through Furnace Creek Campground, approximately 7,500 LF, to the site determined manhole prior to the lagoon gravity main.
1.5 Period of Performance
The overall Period of Performance will be 60 days after issuance of award.
