Q4. Per Performance Work Statement , Description of Tasks, 2. d. Furnish and install manufacturer specified conductors. Cut sheet doesn¿t say what conductors is specified. Will THHN or XHHW be acceptable?

A4. All conductors for this project must meet all

NEC 2017 code requirements, including but not limited to size, application, and environmental conditions.

Q5. Per Performance Work Statement , Description of Tasks, 2. f & g. These are for the meter base which is normally supplied and installed by utility. Are we to wire these units?

A5. The meter is not a standard utility meter but rather a power meter mounted in the KEA control panel. Contractor to provide Voltage feeds for the power meter (Task 2.f) and wire the new current transformers to the KEA control panel

(Task 2.g).

Q6. From the looks of the photos the existing service is a 600 amp 208 volt 3 phase. Is the plan to demo existing service and down it to 400 amp, which I don¿t believe is enough power for the building? Or is this a new separate service?

Which we will not be able to use existing CT can or conduits. It will be new conduit from transformer, CT can, meter base, and new disconnect.

A6. The existing building service is to remain. A new dedicated service will be provided by the contractor. Conductors for the new service will run in the existing conduit and pass through the existing CT Can, to the new disconnect mounted on the building exterior.

Q7. Per print M1.0 detail 2 we are to install a new service disconnect switch on the interior of building. I believe this needs to be a panelboard possibly with a main breaker , one 300 amp breaker for new boiler, and on 20 amp breaker for the control panel.

A7. A new panel with a main breaker, and additional breakers for the boiler, control panel, and pumps, is acceptable

Q8. Is there adequate room for the panelboard in the proposed boiler location. I.e. electrical working clearance.

A8. The proposed work area has sufficient space to meet equipment clearances.

Q9. From photos at the service I see conduits running below building. Is there adequate space for the new boiler feed?

A9. The existing conduits do have capacity for the new conductors, and terminate in the existing mechanical room. Routing of all electrical conductors to the new boiler location is the responsibility of the selected contractor.
