RFQ 140P8524Q0031

SUPPLY AND DELIVERY OF LUMBER AND PLYWOOD FOR YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK

Questions and Answers

The following are questions and answers received during the RFQ:

1. Would it be ok to deliver the supplies in labeled increments leading up to/having the order completely delivered by delivery date?

a. Answer: We would prefer to get all items at the same time. Because of the distance between each delivery site, if the contractor wants to break it down by location that could be acceptable. Please see revised Specifications to reflect this information.

2. Are there forklifts onsite for unloading at each of the delivery locations?

a. Answer: Forklifts will be available for Yosemite Valley and Wawona, we will need to arrange to get one up to Tuolumne Meadows when the road opens.

3. Do you have the previous incumbent and how much they were awarded for?

a. Answer: There is not an incumbent for this award. This is a new requirement.

4. For the lumber that is annotated as being for ‘picnic tables’ are these pieces to be delivered unassembled?

a. Answer: Yes, these boards will be used for picnic tables we intend to build ourselves.

5. What grades of plywood are required for the 26 count 3/4" T&G Plywood, 132 count 3/4"

Plywood, and 16 count 1/2" ACX plywood? Are there any grade requirements for the lumber?

a. Answer: For the T&G plywood we request subfloor full face (local lumber supplier referenced the number 241). For the 132 count ¾" plywood we request B-Grade. For the 16 count 1/2”, ACX is the correct grade. Lumber grade requirements remain unchanged, but please see question 9 for information regarding pressure treated lumber. Please see revised Specifications to reflect this information.

6. For the 2x10x6' are you okay with 2x10x12' as it is typically cut to length by the construction crew when building (picnic tables in this case)?

a. Answer: Yes, please see revised Specifications to reflect this information.

7. Does the DF need to be stamped #1 or KD (or both)?

a. Answer: Does not need to be stamped #1.

8. Is the 3/4" plywood CDX, CCX, or ACX?

a. Answer: Please see the correct grade in answer 5 of this document and revised

Specifications.

9. Is the pressure treated Borate or CA-C?

a. Answer: CA-C. Please see revised Specifications to reflect this information.

A total of 9 questions were received in response to this solicitation as of April 1st, 2024.
