SOURCES SOUGHT (MARKET SURVEY)
Painting Peaceful Valley Ranch House Theodore Roosevelt National Park Medora, North Dakota 58645
The National Park Service (NPS) is conducting a market survey to determine the interest and capability of vendors for a possible upcoming project. All costs associated with providing information in response to this market survey shall be the responsibility of the firm. Any information submitted is voluntary. The Contracting Officer will make an acquisition strategy decision based on the results of this market survey and a future solicitation may be issued as unrestricted without further consideration.
Project Description: Work consists of a comprehensive surface treatment for the preservation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of the historic Peaceful Valley Ranch House, located within Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The focus is on restoring deteriorated exterior coatings and materials to good condition while preserving the structure’s historic character. Exterior surfaces will be prepped, primed, and painted to maintain weatherproofing and encapsulate lead hazards. The Ranch House contains historic paint layers that include lead-based materials. Loose and flaking lead-based paint will be remediated, and intact layers will be encapsulated. Measures will be taken during construction to prevent contamination of the surrounding soil. The project also includes full exterior and selective interior mortar daubing replacement and repair to address deterioration in the log construction. These treatments aim to restore the protective integrity of the building envelope while maintaining its historic appearance. Additionally, bronze weather stripping will be installed on all existing operable windows and doors. As the Ranch House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, all work shall be performed with care and sensitivity to the property’s historic nature. The Contractor shall execute the work in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings. Repairs and treatments shall also follow the guidance provided in the 2014 Peaceful Valley Ranch Historic Structures Report and the 2019 Peaceful Valley Ranch Cultural Landscape Report, both of which are included as reference documents for this project.
Work Location: Peaceful Valley Ranch resides inside the south unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Access is from Medora, ND, the south entrance and continues into the park approximately 10 miles on a paved road
Project Period: Work shall be completed within 180 calendar days of the start date provided on the Notice to Proceed.
This is not an invitation for bid (IFB), request for quotation (RFQ) or request for proposal (RFP) and does not constitute any commitment by the Government to issue any solicitation. All interested firms must respond to future solicitation announcements separately from responses to this market survey. Any solicitation that may be issued will be posted on be SAM.gov, http://www.sam.gov.
