MIMI Lift Station Valve Replacement - 140P6323Q0027
Question 1:
The current set up does not have a drain line from the valve vault to the wet well. The scope of the project currently requires us to dig a trench between these structures to install the FM piping between them. Would you consider adding scope to the project to drill into each structure and add a drain line between them? This could reduce moisture in the valve vault as it currently is getting water in it that submerges the valves and hampers maintenance.
Government Response:
Please refer to attached SOW-addendum for drain line.
Question 2:
221343-2.2 B-We are proposing to change the specs to allow a transducer set up to replace the existing float systems for the pump control. We have seen this used and several existing sewer lift stations in our area. It costs more than the floats, but it has greatly reduced the maintenance and other issues that come with the float system.
Government Response:
Transducers or floats are routinely used on many sewage lift stations. Transducers may be accepted as an alternative "or equal" during the submittal process.
Question 3:
221343-2.6 A- Would you consider adding Stainless Steel piping to the list of approved materials for the sewer piping?
Government Response:
Stainless steel piping may be considered as an "or equal" during the submittal process.
Question 4:
Pipe stands were not visible in the pictures or during the site visit. Please clarify if you would like new stands under the valves in the valve vault.
Government Response:
Use existing pipe stands.
