1. Are the motor sizes 7.5 hp per motor or combined hp?

Answer: The motor size is 7.5 hp per motor

2. It also states that they will be 3 phase. ( No 3 phase at the campground) Answer: There is not 3 phase at the campground- Variable Frequency Drive converts single phase to three phase

3. Would we need to use phase converters or are we going with single phase motors?

Answer: Variable Frequency Drive converts single phase to three phase

4. Disposal of the old equipment the specifications state the contractor will do this. This could save the park some money if they dispose of it.

Answer: Contractor is responsible for disposal of waste (Page 6 / 3.7 Housekeeping)

5. Will the onsite crew install another pressure tank or is the plan to remove and operate without a pressure tank?

Answer: NPS will remove the existing pressure tank. New pressure tank will be sized appropriately to support the pump/system needs. The Variable Frequency Drive and corresponding pumps are designed to maintain the adequate pressure in the water system.

6. How deep is the well and do you guys have any documentation of the pipe/material currently in use? Is the current riser pipe one piece?

Answer: A 15,000-gallon Cistern exists (8ft deep). Galvanized Steel pipe (painted blue) exists (approximate 3” diameter).

7. Have you specified a material that you want to use for the riser pipe?

Answer: Steel Galvanized Pipe, sized appropriately to the system

8. Is the chain fall located above the pumps sufficient to remove them or will additional equipment be required?

Answer: The chain fall is sufficient to remove the pumps. A chain hoist exists and is available for the contractor to use.

9. Are we bidding specified and make adjustments later?

Answer: Quote as specified

10. Documents show 3 phase 7.5HP pumps vs existing single phase 3 HP pumps. Can you confirm and advise how that will work? Please see question number 2 as I think this is what another company was trying to address?

Answer: The Variable Frequency Drive converts single phase to three phase

11. Does the pipe and valves have specifications?

Answer: Commercial grade schedule 40 galv pipe and commercial grade ball valves appropriately sized to appropriate location

12. Is there a roof access panel or a rail system for removing the existing line shaft pumps and motors? If so, could we get some photos of it and dimensions?

Answer: There is spots in the roof for a chain hoist. There is currently a chain hoist there that can be used.

13. These appear to be sitting on a pit/cistern that's filled from a well. Can you find the dimensions of the pit/cistern?

Answer: It is a 15,000-gallon tank is 8ft deep

14. Pg 15 : C : Casing - it calls out 2" flanged pipe and connections, but in the photos it looks like the existing plumbing is 4". Can you confirm the pipe diameter size being requested? Additionally, is all of the existing plumbing being removed and replaced with 2"?

Answer: The existing pipe is 3 in, we want the new pump flange to attach to existing pipe. The only existing pipe that is getting replaced is the line that the pumps are attached to.

15. Pg 16 : C - it calls for a shutoff valve on suction side. Is this accurate? Typically, we don't see shutoffs on suction side as it'll cause a pump to deadhead if someone turns it off.

Answer: As specs specify- shut off valve on both sides

16. Pg 16 : C - it calls for a shutoff AND throttling valve. The existing plumbing in the pictures shows a throttling valve that also functions as a shutoff valve. The VFD will also be doing the throttling.

Can you confirm if you indeed want a straight shutoff ball valve AND a throttling valve?

Answer: We want a shut off valve at each pump so we can isolate the pump for maintenance.

17. Pg 17 : 1 - it calls for a pressure gauge on the suction side. Is this accurate? Given the location of the impellers and how these are set, there doesn't appear to be a way to install a pressure gauge for accurate readings on the suction side.

Answer: There is no need for a pressure gauge on the suction side.
