The National Park Service (NPS) is conducting a market survey to determine the interest and capability of vendors for a possible upcoming project. All costs associated with providing information in response to this market survey shall be the responsibility of the firm. Any information submitted is voluntary. The Contracting Officer will make an acquisition strategy decision based on the results of this market survey and a future solicitation may be issued as unrestricted without further consideration.
We are seeking to determine contractor interest in support of the renovation of three (3) underground water storage tanks, (75K, 125K, and 500K gallon tanks) at Mount Rushmore National Memorial located in Keystone, SD 57751.
Project Schedule: We anticipate that work will begin July 2021 and that the project will be broken into 3 phases for a total performance period of 230 calendar days. Due to winter weather conditions, a winter break is also anticipated.
This is not an invitation for bid (IFB) or request for proposal (RFP) and does not constitute any commitment by the Government to issue any solicitation. All interested firms must respond to future solicitation announcements separately from responses to this market survey. Any solicitation that may be issued will be posted on beta.SAM.gov, (www.beta.SAM.gov).
Project Description: The work of the project consists of remove the interior coating of the existing 75K, 125K, and 500K gallon water reservoir tanks. Once coating is removed, the inter concrete surfaces will be inspected to determine the extent of damage and necessary repairs. New coating systems will be applied to the interior walls, columns, floors, beans, and roof of each reservoir, except the floor of the 75K and 125K gallon tanks. Existing pipes and valves to be replaced in-kind. Pipes, valves, and roof vents to be blasted and recoated. The hatches on the 75K and 125K gallon reservoirs and vault walls will be modified. The 75K gallon tank’s level sensor will be replaced with control cables and conduit included. All plumbing and reservoir interiors will be inspected prior to putting reservoirs back in service.
The government’s expectation is that interested contractors must be able to demonstrate that they have the capability to use employees/subcontractors that have completed projects of similar size and scope to include removal of tank coat and reapplication of coating, installation of transducer equipment and controls, and disinfection of tanks per drinking water standards.
