Q&A

Q1: Are the target trees marked for removal?

A1: No.

Q2: Has there been an inventory to determine the estimated trees/acre needing removal?

A2: No.

Q3: Mulching may not leave a stump (minimum stump height of 1" as required) on smaller diameter trees. Is that going to be a problem?

A3: No.

Q4: What are acceptable invoicing/payment options. E.g. Intermediate invoicing/payment options for partial work completed and inspected (acres) vs. invoicing/payment upon project completion (entire project).

A4: The contractor will invoice upon completion of the project.

Q5: Just taking the cedars and black locust?

A5: Yes.

Q6: Are Forestry mulchers on a skid steer and excavator allowed?

A6: Yes, as long as they meet the size requirement in the scope of work.

Q7: Will the awarded vendor be able to use an ATV to ferry workers, chainsaws, gas, supplies, etc.

from a parked motor vehicle / equipment trailer to the areas where the actual tree cutting will occur or at least to an area that is closer than where the parked motor vehicle will be staged at?

A7: UTVs will be permitted in the project area only and as long as they have some kind of spill containment if they are hauling gas.

Q8: The SOW states that all cedar and Black Locust trees, regardless of size, are to be remove unless identified otherwise. Upon our site inspection there are numerous places where the black locust trees are less than 24" tall and is more of a bush than a tree at this growing stage. Will the SOW require that even these Black Locust trees be removed by chainsaw or low impact rubber tracked skid steer with brush / tree removal attachments?

A8: All black locusts large enough to be considered a tree must be removed. If the locust is shrub sized, it must be removed if it’s in close proximity to a cedar or black locust thicket.

Q9: Do you have an estimated dollar value range for this project?

A9: No.

Q10: On page 4 of the SOW, under section f., it states "the removal of trees, from park property, will be allowed depending on location. The park management team will pre-determine those locations."

- Please provide what and where those pre-determined locations are?

A10: The location where the work will be performed is a pre-determined location.

Q11: In regards to Sol 140P6223Q0013. Point 2 of the instructions (original and amended) provides the following requirements: 2. “Acknowledge all solicitation amendments using one of the methods

140P6223Q0013 Amendment 03

Q&A set forth in Block 11 of the SF 30.” Can you please confirm/advise as we do not see any mention of how to acknowledge the amendments in Block 11 or elsewhere in the document?

A11: Block 11 of the SF-30 states “Offers must acknowledge receipt of this amendment prior to the hour and date specified in the solicitation or as amended , by one of the following methods: (a) By completing Items 8 and 15, and returning _________copies of the amendment; (b) By acknowledging receipt of this amendment on each copy of the offer submitted ; or (c) By separate letter or electronic communication which includes a reference to the solicitation and amendment numbers.” See screenshot below.
